ELAHA YOUSUFI
ONLINE RESUME

BASED IN AUCKLAND – NEW ZEALAND

About me.

COMPREHENSIVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Thank you for visiting my online resume. I have been living in New Zealand for since 2022 and am currently employed by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment in Auckland.

Prior to moving to New Zealand I lived in Afghanistan and worked in a variety of Government and private sector roles including establishing and building two successful businesses of my own – operating in both the IT and logistics sectors. Both of these businesses grew quickly and taught me skills in sales, managing a team and customer service, amongst other things.

In 2018 I was awarded the title of Businesswoman of the Year for the entire country of Afghanistan.

As you are probably aware, the opportunities for women to participate in society, let alone operate a business have evaporated as a result of the Taliban taking control, hence my decision to move to New Zealand in 2022.

I am looking for an opportunity to bring my skill set to your company and would welcome a chance to meet with you. Please check out the rest of this website for more of my background.

Work Experience.

Education and Training.

I am proud to have recently completed my Master of Business Administration from the American University of Afghanistan. I am enthusiastic about seeking out other opportunities to further my knowledge and skills with training opportunities that arise.

SKILLS MEET ENTREPRENEURIAL FLAIR

As you can see from my resume I have worked in a number of industries in both large and small organisations, including starting and building up two successful businesses in Afghanistan before arriving in New Zealand.
I was awarded the award for Businesswoman of the Year in Afghanistan in 2018.

This experience and my willingness to seek out opportunities for additional training and upskilling has given me a very complementary set of skills that I can bring to my new employer.

01. SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE.

In past roles as a Sales Manager and Director, I learned that the key to growth is cultivating strong client partnerships. I’m a confident communicator, comfortable speaking to any audience, whether it’s one-on-one with a client or as a keynote speaker at a conference.

02. PROBLEM SOLVING – DECISION MAKING.

I combine strategic thinking from my Master of Business Administration with hands-on experience to solve problems. In my role as Facilities Coordinator for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I enjoyed the challenge of finding effective solutions to ensure operations ran smoothly

03. IT GENERAL KNOWLEDGE – SOCIAL MEDIA.

I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and established a business providing ICT solutions and procurement in Afghanistan. I also worked as a Sales Manager for an ICT / Internet Service Provider. I have great computer and social media skills.

04. PUBLIC SPEAKING – CONFIDENT COMMUNICATOR.

I am an accomplished public speaker, participating in a number of events in Afghanistan. Since arriving in New Zealand I have also delivered a keynote presentation at the 2023 Rotary International District 9910 Conference.

Social and Volunteer Activities.

INVOLVEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY

Right since starting my career, I have been a strong believer in the importance of being involved in the community. I also believe that people in business should volunteer and give back to the communities in which they operate. This plays a crucial part in fostering social cohesion, driving positive change, and nurturing a symbiotic relationship between businesses and the communities they serve.

I have been involved in a number of social and community initiatives prior to leaving Afghanistan. Since my arrival in New Zealand I have joined the Rotary Club of Henderson where I have enjoyed getting my hands dirty in community projects as well as the networking and public speaking opportunities that have arisen.

I would love to work for a company which recognises the importance of civil society and community engagement.

Member of Henderson Rotary Club (Current)
